Mr. K's Pledge

Parents and Family Members,

Last week the teachers all went to Spring Enrichment at The College of St. Rose. This was a chance for us to gain some professional development while at the same time enhancing our knowledge about our faith. I found the class I took to be both educational and engaging. I my class, we were discussing the Sermon on the Mount. This is the sermon where Jesus gives His disciples the Beatitudes. However, he also delivers an important message following the Beatitudes that tells us how we should live out His message of love through our actions. You will all know it, because this is the section that talks about turning the other cheek.

It got me thinking and reflecting about what God calls us to do each day. So, I wrote a prayer based on Jesus' instructions that I say with the students in school. I invite you to say it with your student at home as well, and to think about what we are called to do in order to serve God.

I will love ALL THE TIME!
I will follow Jesus ALL THE TIME!
I will take up my cross and follow Him ALL THE TIME!
I will stand up for those who have no one to stand up for them ALL THE TIME!
I will be a helping hand to those in need ALL THE TIME!
I will do good for others ALL THE TIME!
I will be a friend to my enemies ALL THE TIME!
I will apologize ALL THE TIME!
I will forgive ALL THE TIME!
I will accept everyone ALL THE TIME!
I will go out of my way to help my brothers and sisters in Christ ALL THE TIME!
